About Deborah McLain
Deborah McLain
- Holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from New York University
- Advanced Expository Writing Professional
- Deborah owned an independent publishing company, and facilitated writing workshops and coached many new authors in story-telling
- Deborah and her husband Steve pastored a small church where Deborah established a women's ministry and lead worship.
- South Puget Sound Community College hired Deborah as an instructor in their Continuing Education Department to teach two of her college-level courses entitled, “What’s Your Story” and "Creative Public Speaking."
- At Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, Deborah was a returning speaker for her workshop called "Creative Networking."
- For several summers as a Christian camp counselor, Deborah offered a popular writing course for campers who wanted an alternative to the sporting events.
- While living in New York, Deborah served as an advocate and fundraiser for a non-profit that rescued trafficked children and participated in a Round Table at the White House and two United Nations forums, which led to panel discussion at Princeton and Fordham University.
- She has served the last seven years as a K-12 Substitute Teacher
